The end and the beginning

The end of exams have arrived and I am happily leaving those behind me until results come out in January (eeek). And as I'm writing this it is pouring with rain, but yesterday, my first day of holiday, it was brilliantly sunny. I ran, I played tennis, I gardened, I Netflixed (of course), I baked but best of all I went to the beach on a brilliantly hot day jut after finishing a beach clean up with some wonderful planet-savers. And today I played tennis in the rain and now I'm not so sure summer is close. It's officially a week away. But is it really a week away? I mean, last week there was fresh snow on the mountain.
Summer is bliss! And I'm looking forward to spending the next 10 weeks at the beach *attempting* to surf, cycling in Otago, rafting in Queenstown and spending Christmas and New Year catching up with family. Maybe I'll go for some runs, I'll definitely play tennis and of course I'll do some hockey.
And to whoever may be reading my rambling thoughts, I hope you have a wonderful summer and Christmas! Or maybe (and this would be exciting) someone not from NZ is reading this, and maybe you'll have a white Christmas!! How strange it must be to spend Christmas day building snowmen while we spend the day at the beach playing cricket and boogie boarding.
