Dark In My Room

After reading some of A.A Milne’s poems, I wrote this little piece about lying in bed in the dark, trying to go to sleep at night, so far unnamed... taking suggestions please.
It’s pitch black
In my room at night
Dark as dark
Not a speck of light
But now now
I see a quiver
By the door
I start to shiver
It waits still
Till I fall asleep
Eyes are closed
Not making a peep
But between
My fingers I see
Nothing much
It’s black as can be
But I know
Something is right there
And it will
Jump out and appear
It might bite
It might give a scratch
I might cry
I might meet my match
But maybe
I’m ready for it
Just you wait
Cause I can sure hit
It has messed with the wrong Kate
